BatMon R/C Battery Fuel Gauging Project

The Official BatMon Web site

As Featured in the June 2002
Issue of Circuit Cellar Magazine

BatMon is a radically different R/C battery monitoring system. It uses a sophisticated battery fuel gauge technology and performs mAH (milliamp hour) capacity measurements by carefully monitoring the actual current that goes in and out of your R/C system’s battery pack.

Sophistication is provided by a microprocessor. Click for larger photo.

The alpha numeric display shows the battery condition as a 0-9 level or actual mAH value, all at the touch of a button. The blue colored super-bright status LED can be remotely mounted and is easily seen from several dozen yards -- perfect for fly-by battery checks.

It plugs into your receiver and battery pack using standard R/C connectors. It can be mounted in your R/C model using double sided tape or held with rubber bands. It is well suited for most R/C aircraft, cars, and boats. The photo on the left shows it mounted in a model helicopter.
